The horse chestnuts are ready to play conkers, conkers something one does not see today ,, and if you are wondering what kind of game is conkers. Conkers is a traditional children's game played using the seeds of horse-chestnut trees – the name 'conker' is also applied to the seed and to the tree itself. The game is played by two players, each with a conker threaded onto a piece of string: they take turns striking each other's conker until one breaks. As a boy I had a twelver meaning my conker broke twelve opponents conker until June my neighbour broke it, she I found out used to put her conkers in the oven to make them hard. not the done thing back in the 1950's. after all she was a girl.

then there is the virginia creeper on the garage,  that has almost lost all its foilage and whats left needs trimming back.
